reflections of the journey...

'cause He cares...

This is just waaaay too crazy cool not to share!

Two weeks ago my family went away on holiday while I stayed home to work and take care of the house. My only responsibility while they were away was to feed my little brothers pet rabbit who he absolutely adores.
Easy enough.

Until a few days into their first week away the rabbit goes missing!! I felt sooo bad. I knew Charlie would be devastated but I'd have to tell him...
Mum and Dad decided it would be best not to tell him until they got home so he wouldn't be too distressed while away from the added comfort of home.

Meanwhile I called all the local radio stations to do the 'lost and found' announcement, all the while having them say "I don't like your chances of getting him back....it is a rabbit after all, not as easy as getting a dog to return home".

So, in desperation I sat quietly in the loungeroom and prayed. At first I felt a little silly for praying about a rabbit but then I remebered the scripture of how God cares for absolutley everything and how not even a sparrow will fall to the ground without Him knowing. So with all the faith I could muster up, I prayed that by an absolute miracle God would bring our beloved Bubby back home safely. I wanted Him to so badlybecause I just knew how much it would hurt Charlie to lose his little mate.

As the days went by I began to dread having to tell Charlie the news when he got home....what a way to welcome him home :-(
As it turns out, Dad told him about 5 minutes before they pulled into the driveway, and I was greeted with the heartbreaking sight of my little bro sobbing uncontrollably and whispering "but he was my best friend......why did he go...." Oh man, it was so hard to see him so sad.

Fast forward to this afternoon and it's a whole other story.

The parents were out in the front yard weeding the garden when I heard "BUBBY!!" "OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.....QUICK GO OUT THE FRONT AND CATCH HIM..."

Sure enough, there on the other side of the fence was our little mate Bubby merrily hopping along as if nothing had happened. As if he hadn't been gone for a week and a half. I can't even begin to explain the joy in Charlies eyes as he was reunited with his best friend. It was awesome.
We quickly put him back in his hut, gave him fresh food and water which he seemed pretty enthused about, and watched him hop about just like he would on any other day.
Only today it was so much more special to see.

Charlie jumped on his bike and raced around to Grandma's to tell her the news.

And what was awesome about the whole thing is that Charlie and I spoke about how I had prayed he would come back, and he said he'd been praying too!!

How awesome is God?!! Hmm, I probably won't ever comprehend the answer to such questions, but I am so blown away by what He does show me.

Hope your days are just as blessed with the love of God... He truly does care, and He most defintiely answers prayer!! =D
